Where does one begin when considering ones own story? I shall try to remain as concise as I possibly can but I should begin at the beginning. I was raised in Silicone Valley California by a mother and father who both worked for a global telecommunications company. After graduating from high school I joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a machine gunner and in Marine Security. I learned a great deal about what my wife refers to “nothing useful at all” and was honorably discharged in 1989. So, now that I have dated myself you’ll understand my chosen Avatar. After my time with the finest men and women in uniform I worked a variety of jobs and went to a variety of different schools throughout the early 90’s in search of my career. I was a manager for a time working for Fred Meyer and was not generally happy. I went to WSU to become a paramedic and ended up entering the IT field. My first exposure to IT was in the early 90’s where I worked for a company that sold digital imaging and high speed printing equipment. I attended a networking class and my career was born.
I have worked for a lot of different companies over the years (Lockheed Martin IT, Northrop Grumman IT, BAE and so on…) and even spent a year in Iraq working as a contractor to the Multi-National Forces in Iraq. I currently work for Premera Blue Cross in Mountlake Terrace Washington where I provide guidance and over all strategy for Microsoft Infrastructure core technologies such as Active Directory (and accompanying well known services), Messaging and Unified Communications.
On a personal note I live for my family. My wife and I have been married for fifteen years and we have two boys ages seven and nine. Both boys are very much into sports and play football, baseball and basketball. When we’re not going to a practice or a game we like to go fishing and camping.
